Sample Review: Albion Gel Mask Foundation

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Here's another sample of a foundation I was eager to test; Albion's Gel Mask Foundation. It is a creamy liquid foundation that contains sacran and hyaluronic acid capsules which makes you feel you're wearing a "gel mask" with generous moisture instantly when applied.

Gel Mask Foundation has a gel-like consistency which is similar to the texture of RMK Gel Creamy Foundation. It's easy to apply with fingertips but it might not be easy to blend on dry skin. I have to moisturize my skin a lot before applying this foundation. It does not require a makeup primer underneath, which is a plus. The texture is smooth and has a semi-dewy finish.

The coverage is sheer to medium, which is not enough for me. It covers redness but enlarged pores are still visible. I would use a concealer for dark circles and acne scars. After a few hours of wear, my T-zone got shiny and the foundation looked almost skin-like.

Albion Gel Mask Foundation is available in 6 shades and I tried it in 050, the medium, most used shade in Japan. It's not too yellow or too pink. Here's a shade comparison.

I recommend this foundation to those with normal to dry skin and who are looking for natural-looking lightweight foundation. Compared to Albion's Oil Serum Foundation which is almost like a tinted oil and hydrates skin with oils, Gel Mask Foundation hydrates with moisture ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and ceramide, also it has better coverage.
