Review: SUQQU Fall 2016 Makeup Collection

Monday, November 14, 2016

I'm finally writing a review on my purchase of SUQQU's Fall collection! SUQQU launched the Fall makeup collection in September, there were a limited-edition eyeshadow palette, a limited-edition single eyeshadow and new other makeup products. And I bought five of the items. This is going to be a looong post.

First up is the blushes. I've been falling in love with SUQQU Pure Color Blush since when I first saw them at the SUQQU counter before its official release. I was really impressed with those lovely blushes consisting of beautifully gradated two tones. It came in 6 shades (5 regular and 1 limited edition) but the LE shade has sold out on the first day of its launch. Currently available in 5 shades total.

I love the packaging as well. It is sleek, simple, and well-designed. It's really thin for a blush compact, the SUQQU SA told me that it is the thinnest blush ever. The back side is gold which is also nice.

I picked 02 Tsubomizaki and 04 Urushibi. Actually 04 Urushibi was not included in my first purchase of the collection, however, when I visited SUQQU next time, I couldn't resist to add it to my collection.

Each compact of Pure Color Blush contains a lighter, shimmery shade that works as a highlighter. 01 Tsubomizaki is a bright cool-toned pink with a sheer, pale coral highlighter. You can customize it by using the left or right part or you can mix all of that for a more natural look. I love using the middle part of two shades as the pink tone becomes warmer and softer. I find them to be very wearable on my complexion.

04 Urushibi looks like a dusty rose shade in the pan but it appears to be more clear, rosy pink tone when swatched. I find Urushibi a bit more pigmented than Tsubomizaki, but it blends easily so you can customize how intense you want it to be.

I've been using Pure Color Blush everyday since I purchased them, it wears beautifully and is long lasting. Both shades contain very fine shimmers and they give a slight satin finish, not glowing on my skin, which I prefer. I use Hakuhodo blush brush (B/J110) for applying them, but the hair of SUQQU Cheek Brush is smaller and seems better at blending. SUQQU recently revealed their Spring collection that includes some new shades for Pure Color Blush, can't wait for them!

SUQQU Deep Nuance Eyes is a limited-edition single eyeshadow. I picked EX01 Hikarizoe, a shimmering light pink. I apply it with the provided mini brush, not my fingertips. The color itself is sheer but an elegant pink tone with champagne gold shimmer, and I like to apply it under my eyes - it brightens my complexion.

SUQQU added one new color and one limited-edition color for Gel Eyeliner Pencil. It has been available in basic black and brown colors, and the color I picked is 03 Navy. It's actually not a new color, they used to offer this navy a few years ago and decided to add it to the collection again.

Gel Eyeliner Pencil has a twist-up nib that doesn't need to be sharpened. You should be aware that the pencil does not retract. There is a smudge tool at the back of the product.

03 Navy is a deep navy color that looks almost black, but with ultra-fine blue shimmer.

The formula is soft but not too soft. It glides on easily and dries fast. Pigmentation is not so great in a single swipe, but definitely buildable. It also wears well throughout the day! This product is not waterproof and can be removed easily with cleansing oils or makeup remover.

The thinness makes tight-lining easy and quick. Here is a comparison to CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner #20 Espresso.

Color comparisons here.

Top: Elegance Eyeliner Perfect (liquid eyeliner) in BK10 - black
Middle: SUQQU Gel Eyeliner Pencil in 03 Navy - navy
Bottom: CHANEL Stylo Yeux Waterproof in #20 Espresso - brown

Adding navy shade to the lash line makes the whites of the eyes more clear, and make the whole eyes more impressive. Love this color.

The new Extra Glow Lipstick looks gorgeous in the black and gold packaging. I loved the discontinued Bright Up Lipstick, which was more sheer compared to this, but this new lipstick satisfies me fully.

03 Suitou is described as Aquatic Pink, it is a beautiful coral pink that does suit for any skin tones. This shade was chosen by the SUQQU SA and I love this color, it works very well with my skintone which has a yellow undertone.

The texture is divine. This formula is so creamy that it glides on the lips super smoothly even when my lips are feeling dry. Also, it’s very hydrating as well. The finish is glossy and it gives the lips a plumper and fuller look.

I also like the idea of the color name. Sui-tou is written as 粋桃 in Kanji, having different meanings for each kanji - Sui (粋) means something like cool, refined, smart, sharp, and Tou (桃) means peach. It just sounds beautiful to me.

I've always loved Tom Ford lipsticks the most, but I do love Extra Glow Lipstick as much as I love them! Definitely going to buy other shades - next will be 05 Saeanzu which is a pretty orange red :)

  1. In the last years, research study has actually verified that artificial vitamins threaten, whereas the same vitamins from foods reveal no proof of damage. In 1995, a direct correlation between usage of liposomal vitamin c and abnormality was developed in a four-year research study including 22,748 pregnant ladies.
