Review: Cle de Peau Beaute Powder Blush Duo in 101

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

A couple months ago, Cle de Peau Beaute released their new blush collection - Powder Blush Duo (called Blush Duo Poudre in Japan). After reading some positive reviews about the quality of the blush, saying it's highly pigmented and the colors are all superb, I decided to purchase it for myself. And I have to say I absolutely love it.

Cle de Peau Beaute Powder Blush Duo is sold separately from the case, like most of Cle de Peau color makeup products (all of them, perhaps?). The cases are specially designed for each products and all the products just look the most gorgeous and lovely when they're housed in its case. The midnight blue case looks simply here but it actually has geometrical shapes to the surface when it catches the light. It has a mirror inside and comes with a velvet pouch and a flat brush. The case retails for 2700YEN ($40 in the US) and you might think it's expensive for just a plastic case, but I would pay for the brush. It's so soft. I heard the hair is squirrel and made in Japan as well as the case and the blush.

Powder Blush Duo has two different color tones in one compact. 101 has a medium rosy pink with semi-matte finish on the left side and the right color is a cooler light pink with silver shimmer and very subtle, fine pink shimmer. I like to apply the left color first then spread the highlight color over it.

Amanda Seyfried wears 101 here.

The texture is soft, smooth and creamy that it feels like the blush melts into the skin and simply adds a natural, healthy glow to the cheeks. The left color is quite pigmented so I suggest a light touch.

This blush is fragranced with the mixed scent of white wine and roses which is same as Cle de Peau Beaute Luminizing Face Enhancer. Love it.

If you find Japanese blushes quite sheer and don't like it very much, Powder Blush Duo will surprise you in a good way. You can purchase it here.
