Review: Hakuhodo Snow Brush Set

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

I've purchased some makeup brushes from Hakuhodo in the past few months and this Snow set is my current favorite. Hakuhodo offers limited-edition brush sets at each stores in Japan, and Snow Set is LE for Christmas that is sold exclusively at Hakuhodo Osaka Takashimaya. I've actually never been there, I called them to send it to me and I received it the next day.

Review: Cosme Decorte Marcel Wanders Collection 2015 Face Powder

Saturday, December 12, 2015

The most exciting product for me from the whole Winter 2015 collections is this very special Cosme Decorte face powder designed by Marcel Wanders, a Dutch designer, who designs for a lot of Cosme Decorte products. I received my reserved box on Dec 1st and I have to say this powder is DIVINE. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Sample Review: Albion EXCIA AL Cream and Emulsion foundations

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Albion EXCIA AL Superior Cream Foundation has been on my wish list for a while. I just can't forget how wonderful my face looked with it. Recently my Albion SA gave me some more samples of the cream foundation and their emulsion foundation named Moist Emulsion Compact VX, so here are my thoughts on these two.

Sample Review: Elegance Costume Skin EX Foundation and Modeling Color Base EX UV

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

I'm still looking for better foundations. ADDICTION Tinted Skin Protector had been my favorite but after using it for a month, I noticed it clogs my pores. It's probably because of its high SPF component.

I've tested cream and emulsion foundations from Albion Excia AL (will post a review soon) and the cream one was amazing. Definitely the best foundation I've ever tried, but it's pretty pricey ($200 for 30g/1oz). And I found some reviewers saying that Elegance cream foundation is similar to the Excia foundation so I thought I should give it a try. Elegance is a luxury makeup brand from Albion.

Review: THREE Balancing Cleansing Oil

Thursday, November 26, 2015

I've wanted to try THREE Balancing Cleansing Oil for quite a while because I get many orders for it. In Japan, for the past 5 or more years, everyone used to say that cleansing oils are exactly what make your skin dry out as they take off all sebum. I have dry to combi skin and I hadn't used cleansing oils for years, and I found milk and cream cleansers are certainly gentle but some are too gentle and don't even remove makeup especially when you're wearing sunscreen with high spf or heavy foundation. So I was looking for a good cleansing oil or better cream one, and I purchased two products. One is my current favorite cleanser, Cosme Decorte AQ Meliority Cleansing Cream (review coming soon), and I use this THREE one 2 or 3 days a week.

Review: Cle de Peau Beaute Powder Blush Duo in 101

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

A couple months ago, Cle de Peau Beaute released their new blush collection - Powder Blush Duo (called Blush Duo Poudre in Japan). After reading some positive reviews about the quality of the blush, saying it's highly pigmented and the colors are all superb, I decided to purchase it for myself. And I have to say I absolutely love it.

Review: Dior Fleurs Des Vents Palette in 002 Omotesando Exclusive

Monday, November 2, 2015

I couldn't resist this beauty; Dior Fleurs Des Vents Palette in 002. This face powder is from Dior Perfume & Beauty Omotesando Boutique (located in Tokyo, Japan) 1st anniversary collection which was released on Oct 1st. It's only available at Omotesando boutique and Dior Japan online store. I was very lucky to get one because there were only 10 left when I visited the boutique.

Review: ADDICTION Tinted Skin Protector in Tint No.03

Friday, October 30, 2015

I picked up ADDICTION Tinted Skin Protector as my Fall foundation. It is a foundation that acts like a BB - sunscreen, base and foundation in one product. Not a fan of BB creams? I highly recommend this Tinted Skin Protector to those who are dissatisfied with BB but actually find it easy to use in a rush.

Sample Review: Albion Gel Mask Foundation

Thursday, October 22, 2015

Here's another sample of a foundation I was eager to test; Albion's Gel Mask Foundation. It is a creamy liquid foundation that contains sacran and hyaluronic acid capsules which makes you feel you're wearing a "gel mask" with generous moisture instantly when applied.

Dior Diorama Bag and Lady Dior Patent Wallet Review and Photos

Thursday, October 15, 2015

I thought I'd share some mini reviews on fashion related products, because I am absolutely obsessed with my new bag now and it might be helpful for people who are thinking about purchasing it. I had always been dreaming of a Dior bag but never expected it would be in my hands so early. When I visited Dior at Isetan with my boyfriend (just to check out new products), the SA told me that they would do a price increase in 10 days - 10% for Diorama bags and 5% for other leather goods. So, a week later we were at Dior Ginza boutique to get my first Dior bag.

[Review] THREE Velvet Lust Lipstick in 08 Inner Journey

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

THREE is probably the most popular beauty brand among Japanese women right now. I see a lot of "new-in" or "haul" photos of THREE products on Instagram, and sometimes there is a line at THREE counters (never seen that long line except Albion and Chanel). I am a THREE fan as well and it is easy to see why they are so popular.

THREE video and Facebook page

Friday, October 9, 2015

Finally uploaded a video of THREE Shimmering Color Veil and Shadow Lining Performance Eyeliner (reviewed here). I did a comparison of some light pink eyeshadows so I hope it helps for those interested.

And I created a Facebook page for my store: https://www.facebook.com/the.everglow.beauty
Please take a look and be sure to 'Like' to keep you updated on the latest product news and offers.

I enjoyed shopping at THREE Aoyama (their flagship store) a few days ago and yesterday I visited Hakuhodo counter at Mitsukoshi Ginza to receive some makeup brushes I ordered at their Omotesando store. So excited to use them! Reviews and photos coming soon.
Happy Friday and hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

Sample Review: SUQQU Frame Fix Liquid Foundation N

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

I've still been looking for the best liquid/cream foundation for Winter. Hydrating, medium or buildable coverage without looking cakey, semi-matte finish, having some sun protection.. and the most important part is how it keeps staying beautiful on my face throughout the day.
I got a sample from the Suqqu counter and have used it for 5 days so today let me review SUQQU Frame Fix Liquid Foundation N.

Sample Review: ADDICTION Skin Care Foundation

Saturday, September 26, 2015

AQMW, Givenchy, Albion, THREE, RMK... So many new foundations I want to try! I got a sample of this new liquid foundation from ADDICTION, called Skin Care Foundation. I'm wearing it on my face today :)

Review: SUQQU Pore Purifying Effector N

Thursday, September 24, 2015

It's just hard for me to keep my skin clean and flawless during summer. Sun damages and sweat clog pores and it also can cause the skin to break out. So I picked this SUQQU Pore Purifying Effector N in July, now I'm finally reviewing on it.

Review: THREE Nuance Eyebrow Mascara in 01

Monday, September 21, 2015

I had been using Kate's eyebrow mascara but it makes my brows look shiny and weird. I got this THREE Nuance Eyebrow Mascara last month so today I'd like to share a quick review on it here.

Review: Cle de Peau Beaute Brightening Serum Supreme

Thursday, September 17, 2015

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently. Hopefully I can get back into blogging soon. So today I opened my 3rd bottle of Cle de Peau Beaute's Brightening Serum Supreme. Cle de Peau makes full-sized refills for each skin care products and you can get a refill for 500yen cheaper than the regular one.

Sample Review: Cosme Decorte AQMW White Completion

Friday, September 4, 2015

Cosme Decorte is generous with free samples. I received 10 packets of Cellgenie samples even when I only bought one item. Today I'd like to review a sample of Cosme Decorte AQMW White Completion which I got from the latest AQMW haul.

AQMW offers 4 different moisturizers; normal one, organic oil-based one, whitening one and concentrated rich one. White Completion is a whitening cream that contains Kojic Acid, the active ingredient which is being used in some Brightening/Whitening products from Cosme Decorte.

It's a thick white cream. Not too heavy, not too light. I applied it after lotion and it didn't feel sticky at all. Next morning I woke up with a smooth and hydrated skin. I can't tell my skin looked brighter after one use, because the cream is not a type of a product that bleach the skin immediately, it just suppresses melanin production.

It has a refreshing fragrance of Sandalwood which I absolutely love.

The product worked well on my skin but I thought it would be too light to use as a night cream in the winter. I have combination skin (my T-zone is oily and the rest is dry) and in the winter I want a more rich cream to keep my skin hydrated while I sleep. It hydrates enough in this season, though.

I recommend this cream if you're looking for a moisturizer that prevents dark spots and make your skin clear.
You can purchase it now here: everglowcosmetics.com.

My online shop is now open!

Just click here to discover and buy newest and best-selling Japanese cosmetics by these brands: Suqqu, Cosme Decorte, Cle de Peau Beaute, THREE, Albion, Addiction by Ayako, IPSA etc. Yes, all are my favorites.

I would really appreciate your comments and suggestions you might have. Please let me know if you have questions about purchasing or anything. Have a wonderful day! xo

Review: Cosme Decorte AQMW Repair Lotion & Repair Emulsion ER

Monday, August 24, 2015

New additions to my skincare routine! Today I'd like to share my thoughts on Cosme Decorte AQMW Repair Lotion and Repair Emulsion ER.

Review: RMK Smoothing Stick

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

RMK Smoothing Stick is a primer for oily T-zone, it's supposed to control excess oils and minimize pores for a visibly smooth surface. You use the product after your usual skin care routine, then apply your usual primer to the entire face.

Review: RMK Creamy Polished Base N in 02 Natural Ochre

Friday, August 7, 2015

I can tell RMK's foundations have been the most famous base makeup product in Japan. Liquid Foundation, their best-seller since 2002, is a product that everyone has tried once.

When I first purchased the liquid foundation, I also picked this Creamy Polished Base N (N stands for new, it's new formula). It's a foundation primer that comes with SPF 14 PA++ which is not enough for me so I apply a sunscreen before it.

Review: Cle de Peau Beaute Luminizing Face Enhancer in 14 Delicate Pink

Tuesday, August 4, 2015

I love love love Cle de Peau Beaute. I own tons of their products - cleansing cream, cleansing foam, toner, emulsion, serum, cotton pads, makeup primer, liquid foundation, powder foundation, concealer, lipstick, etc. I definitely can say Cle de Peau Beaute makes my face.

Luminizing Face Enhancer is a powder highlighter and it's one of my favorite CPB items. It's named "Réhausseur D’éclat" here in Japan.

Review: THREE Shimmering Color Veil and Shadow Lining Performance Eyeliner

Friday, July 31, 2015

Happy Friday! Today I'd like to give you my thoughts on THREE eye makeup products that I recently picked up. I had used their skin care products before (I liked the cleansing foam a lot), this is the first time I tried a makeup item from them and I'm pretty happy with the quality so far.

Review: SUQQU Reset Cleansing Emulsion

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Suqqu added a new formula to their Reset Cleansing series! This emulsion-like milky cleanser is called 'Cleansing Spa' - means it gives you a relaxing time like spa, at home. This Reset Cleansing Emulsion came out this month and it already has some good reviews on @cosme.net.

I prefer cleansing cream/milk because I have dry to combination skin and most cleansing oils make my skin dry out. I have been using Cle de Peau Beaute's cleansing cream for a while, I like how it removes my makeup gently, but I had always been looking for a makeup remover that could better suit my skin.

Review: Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control in 21 Natural Beige

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

I had been curious to try cushion foundation. First I got myself the Sulwhasoo Brightening one, but I didn't really use it because the shade I picked was too pink for me. Usually I never order a foundation online since I find it difficult to choose the right shade without testing, but I couldn't find any store selling Sulwhasoo in Tokyo. I liked the ease of use of the compact and thought I should try another cushion so I ordered this 'Pore Control' type of Laneige BB Cushion - they also offer a 6-in-1 type cushion but Pore Control sounds so good. Well I googled like crazy and saw a lot of shade swatches of it before ordering and it was a perfect shopping!

Let's open the box.

Gucci Beauty Magnetic Color Shadow Quad in Rose Quartz

Monday, July 20, 2015

It's finally here! This eyeshadow had been on my wishlist since when I saw a lot of reviews on Gucci beauty products, but they aren't available in Japan yet and there are only limited ways to purchase them, like Neiman Marcus or Saks online or visit Hong Kong which has the nearest store to where I live... also the shade I wanted had been out of stock online for a while, even when I asked a friend who visit New York to purchase it for me, it was out of stock in the store. Finally, a friend of my boyfriend who works in the US got it for me and came back to Japan last week, yay. And I'm so happy that it was worth the wait.

Hakuhodo B524 Eyebrow Brush L Angled

Thursday, July 16, 2015

Hakuhodo makes the best brushes in the world. Their makeup brushes had always been on my wish list and I finally made it to the flagship store in Omotesando(Aoyama) a few months ago. I think they offer the full range of brushes there, you'll definitely be overwhelmed like I was. When I was there a saleslady helped me the whole time to choose some brushes I wanted.

Elégance Cosmetics Perfect Brow Powder in GR40

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Elégance Cosmetics is a luxury makeup brand by Albion, they're well-known for their gorgeous gold packaging and their best-selling powder, La Poudre. Their brow products are also popular and I've been using the powder and the pencil for quite a while. I'm horrible at doing my brows, it's always hard but this Elégance brow powder gives a beautiful finish effortlessly.

Cosme Decorte Cellgenie Cream VT

Sunday, July 12, 2015

This is my first purchase from the Cellgenie range; Cellgenie is Cosme Decorte's early anti-aging skin care range that they launched last year. I'm 25 years old and I thought it might be time for me to start using some 'anti-aging' skin care, and I heard Cellgenit is targeted to woman in mid 20 and above so I bought this moisturizer to see how it would work.

Cle de Peau Beaute Brightening Powder Foundation in O20

Friday, July 10, 2015

Now that the rainy season has come, powder foundations are my saviour. As I need to keep it light on the face, and to get ready for the hot and humid summer, I bought Cle de Peau Beaute's Brightening Powder Foundation (it's called Teint Naturel Poudre Blanc in Japan). I've been using it for 2 months and I love it.

Addiction Eyeshadows in Rigoletto and Mariage

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Addiction (Addiction by Ayako) is a Japanese makeup brand that is owned by Kose, all products are directed by a New York-based Japanese makeup artist Ayako. I guess most of you are like "wow those black packaging look like Nars!" Yes, Ayako had worked as the art director for Nars.

I had heard so many good things about Addiction products, especially their eyeshadow, which has been ranked as No.1 eyeshadow for quite a long time on @cosme, Japan's largest beauty community website. So finally here are 2 of top selling shades; it was hard to pick up from 64 shades there.

Cosme Decorte Lacouture BB Cream and Loose Foundation

Thursday, July 2, 2015

My first review here. Lacouture is a base makeup line from Cosme Decorte, the highest quality brand of Kose. I've always been fascinated with Cosme Decorte's skin care products, and Lacouture Loose Foundation N was the first makeup item I purchased. Also I got a sample of Lacouture Covering Base BB N then and a few days later, I was at the counter again.

First post

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Hi there!
First of all, I'm sorry for my terrible English. It isn't perfect.

I am Japanese and love everything about beauty. I've been obsessed with beauty products since I was 20. The beautifully packaged cosmetics by Jill Stuart Beauty attracted me a lot and I started to collect so many makeup/skincare products. I really enjoy reading beauty blogs so I started this blog :) On this blog I will mainly feature reviews on high end cosmetics that I purchased.

I hope you enjoy it here! Thank you for taking your time to read this blog.
