Review: LUNASOL Selection de Chocolat Eyes in 02 Chocolat Amer

Friday, March 25, 2016

If you ask which brand I recommend for a easy-to-use, everyday eyeshadow palette, I would definitely say Lunasol is the best. I have used some before, and the palette today I review about is from their most popular collection, Selection de Chocolat Eyes. It is inspired by chocolates and I fell in love with all three palettes when I first saw the collection last year.

Selection de Chocolat Eyes was released in September 2015 and I've been quite enjoying mine for a few months. They have 3 shades available and I picked up 02 Chocolat Amer, the most popular one. It consists of two matte and two shimmery shades.

1 is a matte reddish brown, which is perfect for using in the crease to create further definition. 2 is a shimmery yellow gold which works well as a subtle lid shade or highlight. 3 is a very light brown with fine shimmers. 4 is a matte deep brown to deepen the outer corners of the eye.
3 is actually a highlighter for under the eyes but I like to apply it on the outer corner of lower lid and 2 on the inner corner. 4 is nicely pigmented while the other three are not as much.

I know, the right bottom dark brown shade looks pretty much like a chocolate because of its color and letters on the surface - yes I was hesitating to touch. It's so pretty. Also this palette has a chocolate-like scent, so every time I use it I feel like I'm wrapped up in sweet chocolates.

Here are swatches in the natural sun light and room light.

The yellow gold fine shimmers plus reddish brown shades are just perfect for my skin tone. I love this palette that I use it almost everyday, and I put on the glitter shades of Tom Ford's Golden Mink when I want a more gorgeous look. They work great together.
