Review: THREE Shimmering Color Veil and Shadow Lining Performance Eyeliner

Friday, July 31, 2015

Happy Friday! Today I'd like to give you my thoughts on THREE eye makeup products that I recently picked up. I had used their skin care products before (I liked the cleansing foam a lot), this is the first time I tried a makeup item from them and I'm pretty happy with the quality so far.

Shimmering Color Veil is a loose single eyeshadow. This is one of the products I've been interested in trying, because I do love glitter/shimmer eyeshadows and this clear pot just looks fascinating. I picked up 06 Fallen Angel, it is a light pink with gold shimmers.

Here's a swatch in sun light.

As it's named color 'veil', the pink shade is sheer that I wouldn't say it's highly pigmented. But those micro gold shimmers make the shadow match my skin more - they glow naturally and beautifully. This eyeshadow has very smooth finely milled powder. I like that the pink is subtle and it can be worn with other eyeshadows, like blending some brown for pink brown eye.

I found all shades sheer. I'd love to try THREE Sub Tone Defining Eye Pencil, an eyeshadow stick which is designed to use under Shimmering Color Veil, for more impressive eye makeup.

I also purchased this pencil eyeliner to wear with Fallen Angel - Shadow Lining Performance Eyeliner in 07 Feel Your Beet. It is a limited shade and described as a beet red shade, but for me it looks deeper red.

It’s a twist-up mechanism. It comes with a shadow tip on the bottom to blend lines, further heightening the nuanced effect, but the lines get dry too fast! Although the BA said it would be so, it gets dry much faster than I thought, which you really can't 'blend'.

However, you can draw a thin beautiful line with single stroke.

I'm happy that THREE makes such wonderful products and these made me want to visit the counter again - I definitely will!

You can purchase those products here.
